Client Web Onboarding

Streamlined website onboarding for 8 Furlong clients

Use this dedicated onboarding hub to share everything we need to design, build, or refresh your website. It takes most clients 20–30 minutes to complete—and sets your project up to launch on time and on brand.

Typical timeline: 3–4 weeks from onboarding completion to first design presentation.

How this works

From onboarding to launch—in three clear stages

We’ve built this process around busy leaders. You provide clarity up front; we turn it into a website that reflects your strategy, not just your style preferences.

Share your inputs

Step 1

Complete the onboarding form below: goals, audience, must-have pages, examples you like, and any constraints or requirements.

Time commitment: ~25 minutes

Align on strategy & structure

Step 2

We review your inputs, map the site architecture, and confirm messaging priorities. You’ll validate we captured your business correctly before we design.

Output: sitemap and key page outlines

Step 3

Design, build & launch

We create high-fidelity designs, build them into your chosen platform, and coordinate launch details with your internal team or marketing partners.

Includes: 1–2 rounds of revisions and QA

Before you begin

What you’ll prepare for a smooth onboarding

Not everything below is mandatory, but the more clarity we have, the faster we can move from ideas to a working site that supports your business goals.

Helpful tip: If you don’t have something yet (e.g. final copy), you can upload drafts or leave notes—we’ll help you tighten it.

Onboarding checklist

  • Current website URL(s)
  • Primary goals for the new site
  • Top 3–5 ideal audiences
  • Key services or offerings
  • Brand guidelines (if available)
  • Logo files (SVG or PNG)
  • Any must-have tools (CRM, booking, forms)
  • Content drafts or existing pages
  • Approved photography or image libraries
  • Reference sites you like (and why)
  • Domain registrar & DNS access (if known)
  • Security, compliance, or legal notes

Don’t worry if something is missing. There’s room in the form to flag open decisions so we can help you work through them.

Questions

Website onboarding FAQs

If you’re unsure about anything in the onboarding form, start with what you know. We can fill in the gaps together.

What if I don’t have all the content ready yet?

That’s completely fine. The onboarding form is designed to capture what exists today and what still needs to be created. You can upload drafts, link to documents, or simply describe what you’d like on a given page. We’ll help you prioritize and refine copy as part of the project.

Can I involve other stakeholders in the onboarding?

Yes. If you have a partner or partners, we would require this to be completed by each partner. We’ll gather additional input during our project kickoff meeting when we discuss design concepts.

How locked-in are my answers after I submit?

Treat onboarding as a working snapshot of your current thinking, not a final contract for every detail. We expect some evolution as we move through strategy and design. If priorities change, we’ll confirm any scope impacts with you.

What about technical items like domains, hosting, or integrations?

There’s a section in the form dedicated to technical and integration details. If you’re uncertain about any part of it, simply mark it as "Need guidance" and we’ll cover it with you. We’re used to navigating legacy tools and complex setups.

Who do I contact if I have trouble with the form?

If you run into any issues, reach out directly to your 8 Furlong Consulting project lead, John Harden, or send him an email at [email protected]. We’ll make sure your inputs are captured, even if we need to collect them another way.

Ready when you are.

If you’re currently an 8 Furlong Consulting client and we are building your website or productized service rollout, this onboarding is the starting line.
